About Desford Dog Care

My name is Rachel and I live in Botcheston with my husband, two sons and two dogs.

For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about all animals, but my true love is dogs.

For many years I enjoyed fostering unwanted strays and helped them to find new forever homes. At the same time I worked voluntarily at a local animal sanctuary, attending to dogs with behavioural issues.

In 2014, after 15 years as a primary school teacher, I decided to realise my dream and pursue a job that encompassed my love of dogs. This is when Desford Dog Care was born!

We live in a modest, four bedroom semi-detached house, with a good sized, secure garden for safe play and rest.

I offer plenty of exercise as I love to walk and run with dogs. This is a passion for me and not just a job.

Your dog will live in our family home during his or her stay here, therefore receiving lots of individual attention.

I look forward to meeting you and welcoming your dog into our family home.

Desford Dog Care holds a Home Boarding Licence issued by Hinckley and Bosworth Council and is renewed annually by the local dog warden.

I am also fully CRB checked and insured, for your peace of mind.

dog behaviour

I began observing dogs from a young age as I was fascinated by their body language and communication. This eventually led me to study towards a Canine Certificate in higher education awarded by Middlesex University. These studies, along with pack observations and interactions have led me to practice as a dog behaviourist.

I now help many dog owners with issues from excessive barking to separation anxiety. Dogs become more balanced and happier, and their owners do too!
